There’s been a lot of fun little adventures so far from our engagement… and many more to come!….but I think taking our engagement photos has been at the top of my list so far! I was lucky enough to team up with Clara and Liza to create looks and a styled shoot that would best suit Jason and I. I was thrilled with the outcome of our photos and am so happy that we had such a fun day making them happen.
These photos will illustrate our wedding website, sign-in book, save the dates, and walls in our (and our families’) home so I’m very happy they turned out so beautifully- thanks to the work of Clara and her bomb shooting and editing skills. (We also were featured on How He Asked where I tell our engagement story and the photos help bring it all together- check it out!).
There are a few different looks and I love various things about each so check out the details of below!
I mean the name of the location itself, need I say more? Clara did me a big favor shooting here because it’s definitely a tricky spot- and was a bit farther from the other two locations and the trees have a fickle, peek-a-boo lighting. But, I was in love with them and the idea of the setting paired with a drape-y dress. Also, the Presidio is probably the location in San Francisco we are most familiar with so I liked that connection with it as well.
I always wanted to do something a bit different, a little classic, and a little bit more masculine, for one of the looks to change it up. It’s different than most engagement shoots I see and the Legion of Honor provided the most gorgeous concrete backdrop of stunning pillars with an old-world, Roman feel. That paired with our formal black attire pulled it all together. The pops of red really made the whole look spark and add that needed touch of femininity. I mean look at those flowers! Swoon!
It was also important that we had something casual, a little playful (sexy sweater inspo), cozy, and romantic. I loved our coordinated outfits for this and they paired very well with the stunning backdrop and drop-dead gorgeous views and sunsets. The breathtaking light really just tied it all together.
Not only was this picnic that Liza put together with various pieces and vendors beautiful, it was delicious too! This was the last shoot of the day and we were well warmed up to having our picture taken and really enjoying the goodies and wine that went along with it!
The simplicity of the scene and rustic details of all the pieces were a great inspiration and setting for a romantic picnic and I’m so happy because it gave Jason and I chance to be photographed doing one of our favorite things together- eating!
I am so excited to share all these with you and want to give a BIG shout out to Clara and Liza whose talents made it all happen! Check them out and their amazing work and find all other details of vendors and contributors below. Thank you to everyone involved to helped make this special adventure, a little more so!
