It’s no secret that I love books and love reading. Even as a kid, I loved story time at night with my parents and reading books into elementary school where the characters ended up feeling like my friends. There is nothing quite like getting submerged in a really great story. It takes you completely out of your comfort zone, it allows you to travel, to open your mind up, make new friends, and see the world in a fresh new perspective. It is totally refreshing and fun… you just need the imagination! (And in my opinion, there is nothing quite as important as honing a sharp imagination!)
So since our San Francisco Indian Summer is starting to fade and this week will mark Day Lights Savings, I am ready to get into cozy mode and that includes a lot of lounging. And even though I barely have time for it with all the excitement going on lately, I am determined to soak in the moments where I can read at home while wrapped in a blanket as much as possible (which is mostly around 10 PM after I’ve come home from work, eaten, cleaned, showered, went to the gym, gone grocery shopping, and finished a blog project or when there is a Warrior’s game on that I don’t necessarily feel like I need to watch… haha).
So to help me get excited for that cozy feeling, I decided to create my ideal reading nook. Kind of a dream board, if you will. I think I’m going to be doing a lot more decor posts like this lately because though I love our apartment (with the exception of the noisy, stomping man upstairs, lack of laundry in unit, and flimsy windows), I have decorated it as much as possible and am dreaming a little bit of the day we have more space.
Hope this little scene inspires you as much as it inspires me! Oh! And if you need a reading suggestion, I just finished A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena. She also wrote The Couple Next Door which I loved. And thanks to The Skimm, my work friend’s book club book is The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter by which I will be starting tonight!
