Homemade Healthy Cocoa


Winter time is of course the best time to stay in and be cozy. I love the quintessential warm foods that are associated with cold weather and days on the couch, like yummy soups and crockpots. I do love a mug of yummy cocoa as well and Whole Foods was kind enough to send me some delicious ingredients for me to make a healthy version of this. Since January is also a time to be healthy, I felt like it was the best way to meet in the middle and satisfy those cravings while also staying on top of my healthy eating! Try it out and taste that chocolatey goodness!


  • Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Plain Almond Milk
  • Sea Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Coconut Oil


  • Pour two cups of almond milk into a sauce pan and put over medium heat.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips – and feel free to add more if you prefer!
  • Add a spoonful of coconut oil and then a dash of cinnamon and sea salt.
  • Mix together and serve once completely melted and boiling.
  • Enjoy!
