How to Host a Galentine’s Day Party

There are so many different kinds of love. There’s the love of your significant other, your best friend, a mentor, your parents or siblings, or your pet. With Valentine’s Day approaching, there is no reason that this fun holiday should be segregated to just the romantic kind of love. Cupid only recognizes whether or not the emotion is genuine, not the category it falls into!

I’m sure you have heard that Sex and the City quote spoken by Charlotte, “Don’t laugh at me, but maybe we could be each other’s soul mates. Then we could let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with”. Those healthy, strong female relationships you have can also be some of the greatest loves of your life. This year, no matter if you are taken or not, plan a time to celebrate the ladies who lift you up and support you, throw a Galentine’s Day Brunch!

It’s a fun excuse to get together, dig into delicious treats, and if it’s your style, get girly! Celebrate your friendships and enjoy!

In order to create a fun, festive ambiance that is in spirit of the holiday, use props. Decorative additions like table top gems or photo booth worthy lips are great to add to the mix. Not to mention, they are fun to play with as well, especially when your guests dive into the beverages.
Utilizing champagne glasses to serve candy, DIY crafted wine bottles, and scattered petals gives an extra flair of detail to the table tops. Some other fantastic options are costume angel wings, boas, or if you really want to get in touch with your inner girly-girl, crowns! Even different colored wigs can be a fun alternative.
Choose a color pallet for this soiree. Varying shades of pink, gold, and white are excellent options. Adding signs or banners or even balloons help tie in those two accent colors. And of course, it simply would not be a party, let alone a Valentine’ Day party without some fresh flowers.
For a brunch, waffles is a great menu option. It pairs well with brightly colored fruit and whip cream, making it light, sweet, and delicious. If you have a heart shaped waffle maker, all the better! Pancakes are another option and you can use a metal heart shaped cookie cutter to shape the batter, if you prefer that.
Another sweet treat is cookies and milk. Just add a couple drops of red food coloring to a milk of your choice and voila! Pink and delicious. Just pour in a mason jar with a festive straw and serve!

Delicious sugar cookies pair well. These Galentine’s Day cookies were provided by Doughbies, a fantastic cookie serving company in San Francisco. They are soft, delicious, and served to your door! Also, of course, a brunch needs a little champagne. Rose champagne is a great go-to for this event!
Lovepop provides gorgeous invitations. These intricately designed pop up cards are truly a work of art. The craftsmanship is impressive and absolutely beautiful! It feeds the soul of all those creatives out there. It also makes snail mail extra exciting to open!

As always, anything you or your guests feel comfortable in is best. If you prefer it to be dressy, just mention that it is cocktail attire. Casual, feminine, and chic are suggested descriptions if not. Either way, it is fun to have an excuse to get all dressed up or even hosting a pajama brunch is an easy, fun alternative. Bring your best robes, slippers and pjs!

Between the movies, be sure to have a playlist going of the most classic love songs of the average millennial women’s era. There is probabaly a little something in there for everyone. Throwback music is strongly suggested as there is nothing more fun or nostalgic then going back to a song of a happy time. (Note: Just make sure none of these songs were any guests’ song with their exes). Please see this epic list below:
