Omni: The Best App for City Dwellers

If you live in a big city, odds are you are pretty limited on space. Storage is a luxury not all of us have when we chose this lifestyle. Luckily, there is a new app called Omni that solves this problem.

So I first heard about Omni through a friend who is living in a teensy room (but at quite a money saver compared to the rest of our rents) but is definitely limited on closet and storage space. She signed up for Omni and her life basically became remarkably more convenient.

I had it in the back of my mind to try them out so when they contacted me, I was so excited! As I have mentioned, my boyfriend and I are looking to move in together in the next couple of months so I have no idea what sort of apartment/space I will have come spring. I know I would absolutely need to utilize this at some point though everytime I peep on Craigslist and what is available.

I have plenty of things to send to them in the meantime though. I dream of a library one day so I have bins of books under my bed that I don’t have enough shelf space for. I packed up one of those bins (filled with books I have already read) and scheduled a pick up time pretty easily through the app. On the dot, very friendly delivery service came to pick it up for me and take it off my hands, freeing up some space in my room! (Score.) Whenever I would like my items back, I just reschedule the drop off through the app and voila!-it’s delivered back!

Not only that, they take pictures of  your items so you have a visual record on the app of what they have stored for you. This makes it a lot easier for the forgetful bunch of us out there. They are delivering in San Francisco now but growing fast so make sure to take advantage of this service!

This is perfect for those of you who have seasonal storage that you need such as snowboards, skis, wakeboards, jackets, bathing suits, fake Christmas trees, or holiday décor. Also, I plan on using them for when I move because it will take some of the lesser priority items of my hands for a while so I more space as I figure out reorganizing and such.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! Since 2016 is a year of minimizing and organizing for me, this app is crucial to helping me achieve that goal.
